13 Jul Met someone else with my disability…

My disability is quite rare, about 1 in 4000 births have some version of it, but some have it so mildly that you can’t tell by looking (maybe just a lack of range of motion in a shoulder or a contracture in a thumb), and others have it so bad that they die as infants (if they have a serious contracture in the neck, spine, or jaw). This weekend I sat down on a train, looked across the aisle, and saw a woman with my disability(!). She has a milder case, with more strength and dexterity in her hands and enough leg strength in her legs to walk without braces. I’m totally jealous! 😉 She’s very active in the ‘community’ (there’s a community?! I didn’t get an invite!), just got back from an annual convention of 550+ folks in Florida, hosts meetings in L.A. with 100 attendees, etc. Who knew?!

And yes, I will be doing a full write-up explaining my disability, soon.
